September update about TWIYC 2015
I have had the opportunity to meet guest lecturer candidates at two wonderful events: the Embassy festival at the beginning of the month and the international market during the International Organization open day last weekend. Your applications have been pouring into my mailbox, offering your time to give guest lectures in English, French and German.
A school which recently joined TWIYC requested 7 hours of Spanish guest lectures from volunteers from Spain, Central and Latin America so I created a new vacancy for Spanish-speaking guest lecturers and some of you have already reacted, thank you!
The promotional campaign through flyers, newsletter and radio interviews is going strong with interviews for the The Hague newsletter for education providers in the city, English-speaking radio DutchBuzz and tomorrow with radio Den Haag FM. Watch out for our news on The Hague online this week!
17 schools have sent us their preferences, more will do so by October. Their hour requests range from one to thirteen hours of lectures between November 16 to 23. At the moment we have more than 70 volunteers coming from all continents, to name a few: Mauritius, Pakistan, Canada, Ghana, China and Portugal.
One specific request is for a native speaker of English with debate experience to give a lecture to one school’s debating team which participates to competitions. Please email me at info (@) theworldinyourclassroom.nl if you are interested or know someone just perfect for this vacancy!
Another is a call for more people from Ireland, Scotland and African countries. Do you know someone with these profiles? Please tell your friends about these opportunities!
Dates for trainings are now official: 3 evenings and one afternoon in October for a 3 hour workshop with educational specialist Iris Borup from HCO. Contact me at email@example.com if you have not received an interactive form to inform me about your preferred dates.
See you soon at one of the trainings at PEP Den Haag!
